The Coker College Department of Behavioral Sciences is seeking qualified applicants for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Psychology beginning by August, 2017. The primary responsibilities of the position include:

  • teaching assignments that may include the main campus, satellite campuses, and online instruction;

  • advising/mentoring students;

  • serving on Department and College committees;

  • and other responsibilities as defined by the College.

 

The Department is seeking an energetic individual who is passionate about teaching; dedicated to developing collegial and meaningful working relationships with students, faculty, and staff across campus; eager to contribute his/her interests and ideas for new and innovative courses and programs; and committed to actively contributing to Coker College’s mission.

 

Preferred qualifications include an earned doctorate in psychology. The applicant should be able to teach a wide variety of courses to include: counseling, general psychology, abnormal psychology, appraisal/assessment of the individual, and history/systems of psychology. The interest and ability to engage in scholarly activities is required.

Coker College’s Department of Business invites individuals to apply for the tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Business with an anticipated start date of August 2017.  The College anticipates filling two positions.  The primary responsibilities include:

 
  • teaching 12 credit hours per semester in an undergraduate and graduate curriculum that may include the main campus, regional satellite campuses, and online instruction to traditional age college students and adult learners.  

  • advising and mentoring students to succeed academically and professionally;

  • assessing student learning outcomes;

  • developing and leading curriculum for students at the undergraduate and graduate levels;

  • participating in activities beyond the classroom such as recruiting events or extracurricular events on campus;

  • serving on Department and College committees;

  • continuing professional academic activities in the discipline;

  • and other responsibilities as defined by the College.

 

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Earned doctorate with a specialization in Finance or Strategic Management.  Accounting, Operations, Entrepreneurship, or related fields also considered. (ABD or Master’s with exceptional professional qualifications may be considered);

  • teaching experience at the university/college level;

  • professional work experience in a non-academic position;

  • commitment to ongoing professional activity and scholarship; and

  • academically or professionally qualified under ACBSP standards.

 

Coker College’s Department of Business includes eight full-time faculty members in the fields of management, marketing, entrepreneurship, accounting, and economics. With approximately 300 undergraduate majors, the department offers both traditional and online programs, and also provides classes required for the master’s degree in college athletic administration.

Coker College’s Department of Language, Literature, Communication, and Religion invites applicants to apply for positions as Adjunct Faculty in English (first-year composition), Communication (public speaking), Spanish (first-year instruction), and Religion (introductory surveys). Primary responsibilities include:

The Coker College Department of Business Administration is seeking qualified applicants for part-time, adjunct teaching assignments in its Bachelor of Arts Business Administration and Bachelor of Science Business Management programs. Specific areas of expertise are needed in Finance, Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Management, and Law. The incumbent will be expected to teach a comprehensive and rigorous undergraduate curriculum on the main campus in Hartsville South Carolina and satellite campuses (Florence, Marion, Cheraw and Columbia, South Carolina). This is not a remote position.

Successful candidates should hold a terminal degree in Management, Marketing, Sports/Athletic Management or a closely related field, have significant professional experience, as well as demonstrably capable of effective teaching and accomplishment of student learning outcomes via traditional and online delivery.

  • and other duties as assigned by the language program coordinator.

A master’s degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution is required, and doctorate and/or prior teaching experience in a collegiate or K-12 setting are preferred.
