BFA degree, Dance Education degree, or Scholarship Audition Dates 2017-2018

Dance Audition Requirements

Students interested in the any of the degree tracks that require auditions (BFA and Dance Education degrees only) must complete the following requirements prior to being accepted into the program. Students who would like to be considered for dance scholarships should also complete these requirements:

  1. A Ballet and Modern technique class
  2. A two-minute (minimum) solo in any style of dance
  3. An essay (at least two pages in length, double spaced with one-inch margins and 12 point font) that discusses the student’s career goals in dance and how the specific degree track will help them achieve those goals. Students should also discuss what interests them about the Dance Program at Coker College and why they feel they would be a good fit for the program. The essay should include a description of a positive experience and a challenging experience in dance and what they did to move through it.
