Brenda McKelvey Parker
 

July 4, 1947 – March 15, 2018

Brenda L. Parker, age 70, entered the Church Triumphant on March 15.

Born in Decatur, Georgia, she was the daughter of Eugene and Martha McKelvey, both of whom predeceased her. A graduate of Coker University (BA) and Webster University(MA), she recently retired from the S.C. Department of Mental Health as State Director of School Based Programs.

She is survived by her husband The Rev. Dr. Larry Parker; daughter Vickey (Mac) Honea Path, daughter Tina, Rock Hill, son Randy, Aiken; by grandchildren Alyssa, James, Braydon, Chance, Kayla, Jared; great granddaughter Kyleigh; and by her beloved Missy. She is also survived by sisters Connie Denny (Jerry), Shirley Wood, Pat Shoemaker, Bonnie White, and Karen Lauder; by brothers Gene McKelvey (Louise), Leonard Lauder, Carl Lauder (Wilma), Mark Lauder (Cathy) and David Lauder.

The Service of Death and Resurrection will be held at St. John United Methodist Church in Aiken at 1:30 Sunday March 25th.
