Rachel “Ray” Richey Stall, 76, departed this life on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Frederick, Sr. and Rachel Miller Richey, of Hartsville, SC. Rachel Stall graduated from Coker University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education.
She is survived by her husband of fifty one years, David Stall, a daughter Rachel (Larry) Stall Trent, a grandson Cody Wayne Trent, two brothers Samuel Frederick, Jr. (Beth) Richey, and Frank Miller Richey. She was predeceased by a brother Benjamin McCandlish (Myra) Richey.
Rachel was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a loving, caring, compassionate and friendly Christian lady who will be greatly missed by her family, church and friends. She taught at and retired from the Newport News, VA Public School System. In Virginia she was very active in church serving as choir director, Sunday school teacher and hospitality supporter. She is a member of the Florence First Free Will Baptist Church, Florence, SC, sang in the choir and was involved with home Bible study.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Bible Way Fellowship Church (BWFC), 307 Theatre Rd., Yorktown, VA 23696, Saturday, July 8 from 10 am to 4 pm. Rachel’s life history will be offered by video each hour on the hour. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the BWFC building fund.
