COLUMBIA Zeda Forte Wilkes, 77, of Irmo entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2017. A visitation follow by funeral services will be held August 18, 2017 at 11:00 am at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel located at 7600 Woodrow St. A burial service will take place after the funeral service at Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Zeda was born April 7, 1940, in Hartsville, S.C. to Jarvis “Jake” Bennet Forte and Zeda Dunn Forte. Zeda married Craig R. Wilkes on December 27, 1960 in Hartsville, S.C. She is a graduate of Coker University and was a retired teacher. Zeda participated as a volunteer at numerous civic and social organizations; her favorite being the Ronald McDonald House. Zeda was a fan of bluegrass and beach music. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She also enjoyed watching and attending college sports events. Zeda was a member at Riverland Hills Baptist Church. Zeda is survived by her husband, Craig R Wilkes; son, Craig (Tracie) Wilkes Jr.; her daughter, Margo (Matthew) Levi and her son, Jordan Wilkes. Zeda was a loving grandmother to Blake M. Levi. Zeda is also survived by her sister, Jerry (Gene) Hall; a niece; and numerous nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Columbia, S.C., or the S.C.
