Hartsville, S.C. – January 19, 2018 – Coker College has partnered with Apple to provide incoming first-year students with their own iPads. Students who enroll at the college’s Hartsville campus will receive a brand new device, preloaded with the programs and apps required for success in their classes. When students graduate from Coker College, the iPad is theirs to keep.

Hartsville, S.C. – January 15, 2018 – Coker College’s 45th Annual Faculty Show will open with a reception in the Cecelia Coker Bell Gallery in the Gladys C. Fort Art Building this Thursday, January 18, at 7pm. The event is free, open to the public, and refreshments will be served. The exhibit will be open for viewing through February 2.
The Coker College art department starts off each year with a show of the faculty’s most recent work. The 45th Annual Faculty Show includes work by professors Jean Grosser, Nate Gulledge, and Alyssa Prince.

Hartsville, S.C. – December 18, 2017 – On the morning of Saturday, December 16, during its 2017 winter commencement ceremony, Coker College conferred bachelor’s degrees on 54 graduates and master’s degrees on 19 graduates.
Hartsville, SC – Kalmia Gardens of Coker College received a $77,500 grant to continue its commitment to protecting and enhancing regional waterways and the environment. The grant is part of the Water Resources Fund, a $10 million, multi-year commitment from Duke Energy that will leave a legacy of improved water quality, quantity and conservation in the Carolinas and neighboring regions.
Hartsville, S.C. - December 6, 2017 - Coker College is now accepting applications for the Excellence in Teaching Scholarship, open to all educators in South Carolina who have been named Teacher of the Year and wish to pursue a Master's of Education at Coker College. The scholarship applies to all past and current Teachers of the Year, and it offers the final term of their graduate coursework at no cost. One outstanding teacher will also be a offered a full scholarship for their entire graduate education.

Hartsville, S.C. – November 17, 2017 – Coker College is currently hosting a traveling exhibition, Pick Your Poison: Intoxicating Pleasures and Medical Prescriptions, which was produced by the National Library of Medicine in coordination with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History.
Hartsville, S.C. – November 13, 2017 – The Coker College Art Club’s 45th Annual Student Exhibition and Competition begins on Monday, November 20, with a reception at 7:00 p.m. in the Cecelia Coker Bell Gallery in the Gladys C. Fort Art Building on Coker’s campus. The exhibit features a selection of the best student work from this past year and will be open for viewing through December 8.
Hartsville, S.C. – October 26, 2017 – On Thursday, November 16, 7-8pm, the Coker Singers will host a benefit concert at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church to support the Cobra Cupboard, an on-campus food pantry available to Coker students who experience food and care product insecurities by providing them with supplemental food and basic necessities. The concert is free and open to the public, but the Coker Singers are asking attendees to bring non-perishable food items in lieu of admission for the Cobra Cupboard.
