An exciting new adventure for our first-year students: The Washington, D.C. Experience
Beginning in fall 2017, all first-year traditional undergraduate students will travel together to Washington, D.C. for a study away trip. During this unique academic experience, students will visit historic sites throughout the nation’s capital with guidance from Coker faculty and staff. This valuable travel opportunity is made available through your Coker Advantage package, and is part of the Coker College 101 (CC101) course required for all first-year students.
Fall 2017 Trip Details
Dates: Thursday, September 28 - Saturday, September 30, 2017
Location: Washington, D.C.
Cost: The Washington, D.C. Experience is covered under the Coker Advantage charge on your student bill.
Meals: On the first full day of the trip (Friday), students will receive $50 back from their Coker Advantage Charge, to be used for food purchases during their time in Washington, D.C.
Transportation: Charter buses will transport students from Hartsville, S.C. to Washington, D.C., and SmarTrip cards will be provided for travel around the city.
Luggage Instructions: Student are permitted to bring one airline size carry-on for storage under the charter bus, and one additional bag (no larger than a book bag or medium size tote) to carry on the charter bus.
Tracks: CC101 instructors will design “tracks” for each CC101 class. These are unique academic experiences that will allow students to explore the historic sites of the nation’s capital. Additional costs may be associated with a track to cover entrance fees, please check with your CC101 instructor to see if this applies to you.
