The Physical Education Department and Campus Life have partnered to make available a broad range of recreational opportunities in an effort to improve the physical wellness of students. The program’s intent is to engage students in a variety of new and challenging outdoor experiences.
The Outdoor Adventure Trips include:
- US National Whitewater Center: Home of the largest man-made river in North America and located in Charlotte, N.C., the USNWC offers a wide range of activities for students to choose from, including mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing, eco trekking, rafting, zip lining and exploring over 300 acres of trails.
- Snow Skiing: The mountains of North Carolina are perfect for expert or novice skiers. In the spring, students travel to Appalachian Ski Mountain for a day of skiing and snowboarding.
- Beach Day: Each spring, students travel to Myrtle Beach to try new water sports, such as kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing and kite surfing.
