Beloved wife of John W. Chisholm, a native of Kinston, NC, and a resident of Baton Rouge for 66 years, passed away Jan. 1, 2015 at the age of 90. A Memorial Service will be at the University United Methodist Church Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at 10 AM. She was a graduate of L.S.U. and a member of Phi Kappa Phi, and Phi Lambda Pi, and worked for many years in the Junior Division at L.S.U. Dot was an active member of the University United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women’s Club, and one of her particular joys was singing in the Choir, both here and at their summer home in Avery County NC. She was very active in various groups, a former President of the L.S.U. Campus Club, the Melange Book Club, the Thirty-Niners Book Club, a 50 + year member of P.E.O. Chapter AC, and a member of Phi Mu Fraternity. She was a caring person concerned with the welfare of others and along with her husband, endeavored to improve lives of children through various organizations. She is survived by daughter, Nancy Hall Sturgeon Bay, WI, 3 grandchildren, Paulsen (Baton Rouge), Mallory Short (Manitowoc, WI) and Grayson (Sturgeon Bay, WI) Nephews Ken Barton (Michael) in Nova Scotia, and Jeff Barton in California, a great-grandchild, Claudia Leigh Short, and Niece Ruth Hollowell of Kinston, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Chisholm, her parents, George Bascom and Charity Ruth Greene, sisters MaryAlyn Fie1ds and Ruth Barton.
