Anna Katharine (Edens) Gaudreau passed away on January 17, 2013 at age 89 following a long battle with dementia.
Born in December, 1923 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, she was raised in Latta, South Carolina where she lived for many years. In 1998 she moved to Frisco, Texas from Salem, Massachusetts where she had lived for 40 years. A graduate of Coker University she was an elementary school teacher prior to joining, and retiring from, the Charles Stark Draper Research Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts as a Technical Writer and Researcher. For many years she loved to travel and visit historical sites and museums. She was a voracious reader and managed to amass a large collection of books covering wide and varied topics. Among her other many loves was walking the beaches of the region and collecting seashells.
She is preceded in death by her parents Alfred Reese and Christine Edens of Latta. She is survived by her son Philip Gaudreau and his wife Patricia of Frisco, Texas; grandson Donald Gaudreau and his wife Renee of Powell, Ohio; granddaughter Jeannine Gaudreau and her husband Thomas Milius of Groveland, Massachusetts and their mother Jacqueline; great-grandchildren Adam and Abiygale Gaudreau and their mother Sharon; great-grandchildren Grace and Julia Milius and many other friends and family.
She will be buried in Magnolia Cemetery in Latta, South Carolina beside her parents.
