at Coker University
The Supreme Court of South Carolina will hear oral arguments at Coker University on Wednesday,
May 1 – Thursday, May 2, 2024, beginning at 10 a.m. each day. Coker University students, alumni, the legal
community, and members of the public are invited to attend. Coker University is located at 300 E. College Ave.
in Hartsville.
The Supreme Court of South Carolina occasionally hosts oral arguments outside of Columbia to allow individuals
interested in understanding the judicial and legal systems the opportunity to observe its proceedings. Cases to be
heard during this term of court are listed on the Supreme Court’s Roster of Cases. Visit the event website for
group and individual registration. In recent years, the Supreme Court has held terms of court to hear oral arguments
in Greenville, Horry, Orangeburg, Sumter, Spartanburg, and York counties.

From 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 1st, South Carolina attorneys and law students, traveling on the Palmetto LEADER, a fully operational mobile law office, will provide on-site delivery of services such as drafting wills, reviewing legal documents, and providing legal counsel to those who are otherwise unable to afford legal help.
