Mary Ann Mustain, 72, of Lodi, passed away on October 25, 2018 after a long and brave battle with MS. Her devotion to her family and firm belief in God supported her through her illness and provided her with peace upon her heavenly homecoming.
Mary was born on September 5, 1946; oldest of 2 daughters to Charles and Edith Rhodes in Union, SC. She attended Coker University for Women in Hartsville, SC when she met her husband, Robert E. Mustain, a cadet at The Citadel in Charleston, SC. She later graduated from San Jose State University in 1969 with a BA in Romance Languages. She worked for the Department of Defense for over 20 years at various locations in Germany, and at Sharpe Army Depot in Lathrop, and retired on disability in July 1998. Mary enjoyed square dancing, needlepoint, cooking, traveling and going on cruises.
Mary was blessed with a large and loving family and is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert; her daughter, Elizabeth Pott; her son, Charles Mustain; her grandchildren, Ryan Pott, Haley Pott, Kyle Pott, Charles Mustain, Tyler Mustain, and Jacob Mustain; and her sister Sally Morales. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edith Rhodes.
Funeral services will be held at The Episcopal Church of Saint John the Baptist, 1055 S. Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi, CA on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM. A reception will be held at the church following the service.
Private Burial will be at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon on November 13, 2018.
The family gratefully declines flowers, but prayers, condolences, and memories are gladly accepted and memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Boys Town in Boys Town, NE, or St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, SD.
