Charles Jesse “L. C.” Zellner, V, age 48, of Cumming, passed away suddenly from complications of cancer on Thursday, November 8, 2018.
L. C. was a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Greer, SC and attended New Harmony Baptist Church. L. C. graduated from Riverside High School and played on a basketball scholarship at Coker University and USCS.
He was a Land Supervisor with Williams Gas Pipeline, loved golf and was an avid Florida State football fan.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charles Jesse, III and Ruth Zellner, and James and Jane Bledsoe. Survivors include his wife, Amanda Elizabeth Meers Zellner of Cumming; daughter, Ashtyn Elizabeth Zellner of Cumming; father, Charles Jesse Zellner, IV and his wife Carole Marie Abshire of Tamassee, SC; mother, Janice Bledsoe Zellner of Greer, SC, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lamar and Beth Meers of Free Home; sisters and brother-in-law, Alisha Zellner of Greenville, SC and fiance Charles “Chuck” Floyd, Kristen and Ben Lappin of Greer, SC; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Matthew and Courtney Meers of Winston-Salem, NC; nieces and nephews, Tristan and Olivia Hashemi, James Lappin, Aubrey and Hayley Lappin, Etta Meers, Maverick Meers; biological mother, Brenda Workman and her son, Holton; and a host of beloved cousins, family and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 14th at 1:00 pm at New Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Nix, Rev. Matthew Meers, Rev. David Pruitt and Rev. Johnny Purcell officiating. Remains will be placed in state at the Church on Wednesday from 12:00 noon till hour of the service. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to a trust fund for his daughter, Ashtyn, that will be set up and announced at a later date. Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming is in charge of arrangements.
