Academic Records Staff

The Office of Academic Records, in cooperation with and under the direction of the Provost, is responsible for maintaining the official academic records for Coker College students. The Office of Academic Records also provides direct support to students, faculty and staff through the following services:

  • academic policy implementation and monitoring
  • class scheduling and schedule publication
  • student registration and academic program (major) declaration
  • grade reporting
  • transcript request processing and printing
  • graduation application processing, certification and diploma services
  • transfer credit evaluation
  • withdrawal and leave of absence processing
  • student address maintenance

Jessica Smith – Academic Records and Services Coordinator

  • Process enrollment verification letters, address changes, transcript requests, and other academic type requests
  • Direct the enrollment verification process
  • Receive/review and reconcile all enrollment verification rosters
  • Manage the withdrawal and leave of absence process
  • Audit final grade sheets checking for successful completion of pre-requisites and follow-up with requisite reconciliation for upcoming sections

Brandy Langley – Assistant Registrar (Transfer and Academic Services)

  • Perform transfer evaluations for new students
  • Process all Transient Student Permission forms for current students and enter transfer credit of approved coursework upon receipt of official transcripts
  • Receive all request for Re-Evaluation of Transfer Credit and make adjustments as approved by Department Chairs
  • Receive and enter placement scores
  • Responsible for graduation process

Marcy Kershner – Associate Registrar for Institutional Research and Technical Services

  • Monitors all computer based activities pertaining to student records/registration and academic processes (i.e. Degree Audit maintenance, waitlist processing, etc.)
  • Lead role in testing and implementing new components of the administrative database (Datatel) and other software systems (i.e. WebAdvisor) that facilitate the functions of the office
  • Maintains and implements tables of code files in the student information systems/administrative database to ensure accurate and efficient use of the system in regards to registration, add/drop or refunding schedules and degree audit usage and college reporting
  • Manage grading periods and monitor grade entry

Stacy Atkinson – College Registrar

  • Prepare drafts of the Academic Calendar to be presented to the Administrative Team and the Council of Chairs for approval
  • Develop academic course listings in conjunction with the academic departments and the Office of the Provost
  • Oversee the development and preparation of academic publications from the Office of Academic Records in cooperation with other college offices
  • Facilitate the responsibilities of the Office of Academic Records in regards to:  Orientation, Registration, Enrollment Verification, Grading, Degree Audits, Convocation, Commencement, end of term processes/activities and any other academic function as designated by the Provost
  • Assist faculty and students in the use of the College’s student information system(s)
  • Assist the Coker Athletics Department with NCAA compliance verifications
  • Serve as DSO (Designated School Official) listed with SEVIS
  • Serve as SOC Counselor as listed with the Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges Consortium
