It is with heavy hearts the Joyeusaz Family announces the passing of Ann Livingston Joyeusaz, 93, the beloved wife of Edward John Joyeusaz. She passed away peacefully at home in Chevy Chase, Maryland, on October 11, 2024. Ann Livingston Joyeusaz was born on November 9, 1930, in Charlotte, North Carolina, the youngest child of Lois Folsom Livingston and Leon Ralph Livingston. Ann graduated from Coker College in 1950 and later served on the Foundation Board. She worked for Senator Maybank of North Carolina as a secretary for the Senate Banking Committee. She was a Member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Edward John Joyeusaz; her three children, Edward John Joyeusaz, Jr. and Lisa Joyeusaz, Lois Livingston Joyeusaz and her partner, Jonathan Weisheit, and Richard Livingston Joyeusaz; and grandchildren, Margaret Ann Hack, Katherine Muir Hack, and Edward John Joyeusaz, III, Randall Harrington Weisheit, Natalie Ann Joyeusaz, and Madison Elizabeth Joyeusaz.
The family would like to give special thanks for her devoted caregivers, Bernice Owusu Abjei, Juliana Ayivor, Ivy Rochester, Jarrieu Bah, Masoud “Michael” Yahaya, Patience Sharbow, “Bela” Ali, and Taibou Bah. Also, thanks to Montgomery Prince Georges Hospice, especially Susan Huho and Beth Kreimeyer.
A funeral service to honor her life were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2024, in Magnolia Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Gregory B. Boyd officiated, and the family received friends immediately following the service. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home are caring for the family.
