Ok girls, the count-down has officially begun! It’s now less than a year until our 50th Class Reunion, so I hope that you are already making plans to attend this event—February 9-11, 2018.
I guess that you are saving all your news to share when we actually get together, because aside from Judy Hesley Toney, I have not heard a whisper from anyone. Barbara Nexsen Lansche and Anne Davis Darby joined Judy on a trip to New York to celebrate Nancy Strahan Hall’s birthday. During the visit Hesley suffered a stroke and had to be hospitalized, followed by a stay in rehab before she flew home. In the true fashion of the “Golden Girls” they all stayed on to keep her company. She’s glad to share that she is now 90% recovered and ready to tackle the world again.
Also, please start filling your piggy bank in order to allow a very generous gift from the class of 1968. “Fifty would be nifty” but girls, we are talking about half a century, so plan to be outrageously generous this time around. Think not only about the fond memories as Cokernuts but all the ways that Coker has had an influence on the past 50 years of your life!
Wishing you all well,
Joni Ladinig Abernathy
