Daphen Edge Obituary
Timmonsville, SC – Ethel Daphen Yarborough Edge, 91, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan 6, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Layton-Anderson Funeral Home. The family will speak to those attending after the service. A private burial will take place at her home church in Sardis.
Daphen was born in the Sardis Community of Florence County to the late Dwight and Ethel Anderson Yarborough. She received her degree in business at Coker College. Shortly after she married the late Archie Buddin and had 2 daughters. She was fortunate enough to live in several different parts of the country experiencing many new and different cultures. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence but Sardis Baptist Church was her family’s home church. She was most importantly a devoted mother, grandmother, Bible Study teacher and friend. Later in life she was blessed to meet her second husband, the late A.J. Edge and they were married for 36 years. They enjoyed traveling, boating and the many friends in their church in Myrtle Beach,
Surviving are her daughters, Melanie (Geno Marron) Lyons, Michelle Buddin; sisters, Martha Truluck, Heidi McGill; step-daughter, Donna Hamilton and stepson, Ricky Edge, and her loving grandchildren, Cassie (Trevor)Tompkins, Hillary (James) Yonan and three great-grandchildren, J.P., Ginny and Paige. She is preceded in death by her sister Donna Hill.
