A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Gloria Huffingham Capp, 91, who entered into rest on Sunday, December 29, 2019, will be held at 2 o’clock on January 1, 2020, in Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Florence, SC. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private burial will be held. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Gloria was born on January 17, 1928, in Jacksonville, FL, a daughter of the late Theodore James Huffingham, Sr. and Lonnie Huffingham Walker. She was a graduate of Landon High School in Jacksonville. She was the leader of the Landon High School Lionnettes, an all-female drill team. Gloria was a charter member of Trinity Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
She served on the steering committee of the Women’s Auxiliary of McLeod Medical Center and served as President of the Auxiliary for two years. She was instrumental in establishing the Auxiliary Gift Shop. She married Leon Howard Capp on December 27, 1947, and their home was blessed with two daughters, Debbie and Diane. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman, loving the Lord, living and sharing her faith.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Curry) Dawkins of Hartsville, SC; Diane (Scott) Creveling of Darlington, SC; grandchildren, Jennifer D. (Jeff) Calabrese, Jamie Dawkins, Jason (Leslie) Dawkins, Rob (Kristin) Creveling, Stephanie C. (Russell) Vedder; great-grandchildren, Lainey Calabrese, Lily Calabrese, Taylor Beck, Tripp Creveling, Madison Creveling, Kinsley Creveling, Daniel Vedder, Scott Vedder, Lilly Vedder; sisters-in-law, Iva Huffingham, Carolyn Capp; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her loving husband, Leon Howard Capp, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ted Huffingham Jr., Charles Huffingham, Donald Huffingham, and Earl Huffingham.
