The Board of Trustees of the South Carolina Inn in Montreat is pleased to announce the creation of the George P. Sawyer Native Plant Garden on the Inn grounds. Dr. Sawyer has served the Inn in many and diverse ways for over 20 years. He served as chair of the Inn’s Board of Trustees and for many years served as treasurer, which included technological transitions. George was the go to person for all things financial including budgets, endowment reports, bookkeeping, and tax preparation. But George has served the SC Inn in many other ways as well. George supervised several construction projects and oversaw Inn responsibilities during staff transitions.
George was first introduced to the SC Inn as a member of the Hartsville Presbyterian Church and is currently a member of the Montreat Presbyterian Church and an associate member of the Oakland Avenue Presbyterian Church in Rock Hill.
