Marian Elvington Roberts March 02, 2017 Memorial services for Marian Elvington Roberts will be held at the Church of the Advent, Marion, SC on Saturday, March 4 at 11:30 AM. There will be a private burial at Riverside Cemetery, Nichols, SC. Mrs. Roberts, widow of B. Frank Roberts, died peacefully at home on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Born in Nichols, SC, she was the daughter of the late Boyd Baxter Elvington and Donnie Carmichael Elvington. She was a graduate of Nichols High School and Coker University. After graduation, she was a homemaker and an active member of the Church of the Advent. She is survived by three nieces: Gayle Elvington of Lake View, SC; Donna F. Bartell of Norfolk, VA; and Janet F. Brewster of Shalimar, FL. She is survived by 5 stepchildren: John R. Roberts (wife Eleftheria) of Newton, MA; Isabel Barber (husband John) of Spartanburg, SC; Giles M. Roberts (wife Jane) of Wilmington, NC; Benjamin G. Roberts (wife Susie) of Fancy Gap, VA; and Sallie Trammell (husband Mark) of Woodstock, GA. She has eleven grandchildren: Stuart Barber (wife Courtney); Steven Barber (wife Katie); Whitney Roberts Hill (husband Mark); Grayson Roberts (wife Taylor); John Barber Junior; Miriam Roberts (husband Garrett); Wesley Trammell; Eva Roberts; Dylan Roberts; Isabel Trammell; and Savannah Roberts. She has 4 great-granddaughters: Marshall & Wells Barber; Madison & Sullivan Barber. She has 1 great-grandson, Parker Barber. She was predeceased by: her first husband Preston A. Riddick, Jr; her 2 sisters, Margaret E. Foster and Gladys E. Elvington; and her second husband, B. Frank Roberts. The family gratefully acknowledges the attentive and loving care provided by her friend and caregiver, Jeanette Campbell as well as the staff of McLeod Hospice.
