Pamela was the eldest child of the late Leon Carl Pennington, Sr. and Mildred Christine Ingram Pennington. She was a 1954 graduate of Hartsville High School. She attended Salem College and graduated from Coker University with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of West Hartsville Baptist Church.
She owned the Pam Pennington School of Dance for many years until she married the late George William Yarbrough, Jr. Pam was a stay-at-home mother until her sons attended school. She then pursued her calling by teaching Elementary Education, serving several generations of Hartsville families. Her outgoing personality and smile were contagious to all that she encountered. She loved books and children, often gifting her book collection to those she loved. She enjoyed spending time with friends and playing bridge. And she never left home without her beloved Pepsi. This sparked her nickname, Peppi.
Surviving are her sons George William Yarbrough, III; Carl Alexander Yarbrough (Wendy); sister Kaye Pennington McElveen; brother Leon Carl Pennington, Jr. (Michele); grand-daughters Carley Elizabeth Yarbrough and Kaitlyn Lorene Yarbrough; and her beloved nieces and nephews.
