Ricky David McDonald, 44, passed away at his home on Thursday, August 6, 2020, in Murrells Inlet. Ricky was born on September 30, 1975, in Sumter County, a son of Edward David McDonald and Judy Lynn Powell McDonald. He was a graduate of Williamsburg County Schools, Horry Georgetown Technical College, where he received an associate degree in Forestry and received a bachelor’s Degree in Business from Coker College. Ricky worked for SC Forestry Commission early in his career and worked for Canfor as a timber buyer for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved spending time with his son.
Surviving Ricky are: his son, Clifton David McDonald, of Murrells Inlet; parents, Judy Lynn Powell (Jimmy L. Todd) McDonald, of Pamplico; and Edward D. (Elizabeth) McDonald, of Kingstree; sister, Becky (Michel) Tyner, of Scranton; nieces, Rebecca L. Hudson and Bailey Tyner; nephew, Dylan Tyner; step brother, Ronald M. (Stefanie) Joye, of Sumter; nephews, Trip and Curt Joye; step sister, Patricia (Casey) Sellers, of Florence; nephews, Beckett and Jaxon Sellers; and niece Olivia Sellers; and special friends, Rod and Mandy Bryant and their children Anna Grace and Evan.
