Sympathy is extended to Trish on the death of her father, Oscar Beamon Pullen.
Mr. Oscar Beamon Pullen, 91, of Winnsboro went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Born in Dublin, GA, he was the son of the late Perry Oscar and Lillie Graham Pullen.
Mr. Pullen is survived by his wife of 69 years, Anna Mercer Pullen; son, Alan W. Pullen (Bonnie) of Batesburg; daughter, Patricia A. Lunn (Phil) of Hartsville; three grandchildren, Merri Shannon Lunn, Kristen Doyle, and Lisa Pullen; six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Oscar is predeceased by one sister and five brothers. He served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was employed for 46 years at the Winnsboro branch of UniRoyal/Goodrich/Michelin, serving as cost accountant and paymaster. He was a long-time faithful member of the Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene and Abundant Life Fellowship in Columbia where he taught Sunday School for more than 60 years and served in many other leadership positions. He also served the South Carolina District Church of the Nazarene for 25 years in various capacities including District Treasurer and member of the Advisory Board.
Funeral services with military honors will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Winnsboro First Church of the Nazarene with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:30 pm in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the D. Moody Gunter Camp and Retreat Center, 1420 Nazarene Road, Batesburg, SC 29006.
