Coker University High School Honor Band Clinic 2023

Friday, December 1 – Saturday, December 2, 2023

We invite high school students in grades 9-12 to participate in the inaugural Coker University Honor Band Clinic!

Students participating in this two-day clinic will work on challenging repertoire with collegiate faculty and guest clinicians, cultivating in a Saturday afternoon concert to showcase their hard work and achievements.

Directors can submit nominations here. Nominations are open October 2-27.
Students and directors will be notified of their acceptance by October 31.

Eligibility

High school students in grades 9-12 with director nomination.
Ensemble Seating

Ensemble seating is determined by video audition.
Selection Process
Band directors may nominate up to 10 students. Selection for participation will based on the following:
- Band director ranked nomination.
- Student’s year in school
- Previous festival experience
Information for Directors

Directors can submit nominations here. Directors, students, and parents will be notified of acceptance on October 31.

Directors with students participating must be present for the entire honor band clinic.

A hospitality room will be available.

A professional development session for Saturday is in the works!

Information For You

Cost: $30 per student
All participation fees are non-refundable and need to be submitted online after the student has been selected.

Registration fee covers:
– Friday dinner
– Saturday snacks
– Saturday lunch
– Event shirt

Students must be present for the entire duration of the clinic.

Location: Coker University campus (Watson Theatre, Performing Arts Center)

Important Dates:
October 2-27 | Band director online nomination forms collected
October 31 | Band directors/students notified of acceptance
November 1-10 | Students submit video recordings of their placement auditions online
November 13 | Music available to students and directors online
Student Audition Video Information

Audition video repertoire is the student’s respective 2024 All-State solo. Instructions for submitting audition videos will be included in the acceptance letter.
