Coker Launches Online Classes

Hartsville, S.C. — Coker College is launching its online courses program this summer.  Enrollment is open to current Coker students and students in good standing from other colleges and universities.  Online classes begin on Saturday, May 15 and end on Saturday, July 10.

“This is an exciting venture,” said Dr. Robert Wyatt, president of the college. “For the first time, we are making Coker’s exceptional professors and nationally recognized teaching style available to the world via the Internet.”

Coker College professors will teach online classes in Speech and Communications, Elementary Statistics, Personal and Community Health, Introduction to Western Classical Music, American Literature, Dance History, General Psychology, and Principles of Biology. All of the courses are fully-accredited.

The cost for a course in Coker’s online program is $245 per semester hour. Financial aid is not available for transient students (non-degree seeking) who wish to transfer a course back to their home institution.

“This is an easy way for any college student who is home for the summer to continue their education on their own timetable,” said Tasha Stryker, coordinator of Coker’s online programming
