HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Feb. 10, 2011 – In one of the nation's largest and most competitive district competitions for communications professionals in education, Coker College’s recently redesigned home page has been awarded a Special Merit award by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

“We are doubly proud of this year’s win,” said Coker College President Robert Wyatt.

“Success in the competition, which drew more than 950 entries this year, honored not only our institution’s current marketing and communications efforts, but it also confirmed the value of our core product – alumni well prepared for successful careers.”

The talent behind the award-winning home page and implementation is Executive Director of Marketing and Communications Kyle Saverance, who studied design at Coker and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in art.

Saverance completed several internships at Coker as an undergraduate and joined the school’s communication team following graduation.  He is a past member of the professional association for design AIGA, previously known as the American Institute of Graphic Arts, and a current member of the Universities and Colleges Design Association.

The CASE award will be presented at the CASE’s annual conference in New Orleans on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

CASE District III serves more than 4,000 members in nine states of the Southeast and is committed to supporting educational and professional institutions in its region by enhancing the effectiveness of the alumni relations, fund raising, communications, marketing and other advancement professionals who serve them.
