Coker to Host 2013 Bike MS: Breakaway to the Beach

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Sept. 17, 2013 – For the fourth year in a row, Coker College will serve as the lunch stop for the annual Bike MS: Breakaway to the Beach event on Saturday, Sept. 21. The stop at Coker is from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Library-Information Technology Center parking lot.

The Greater Carolinas Chapter of the National MS Society is organizing the event. Riders will be served lunch at Coker before continuing their ride to Florence, S.C.

Participating cyclists will bike the weekend of Sept. 21-22. The event begins Saturday in both Monroe, N.C., and Kershaw, S.C., and ends in Sunset Beach, N.C., on Sunday. On average, 1,500 cyclists and 400 volunteers participate in the event each year. The Breakaway to the Beach ride serves to support people living with multiple sclerosis in the Carolinas and throughout the United States. The event will benefit MS research, programs, services and advocacy for the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the National MS Society.
