Area Internships
  • American Cancer Society – Interns assist the Community Field Manager with Relay for Life and promoting the mission of the American Cancer Society. This role includes assisting with volunteer management, managing social media aspects, marketing and communication with the local media, working with cancer survivors and caregivers and special fundraising projects throughout the year.
  • Black Creek Arts Council – Opportunities at Black Creek Arts Council include promotion of local artists, art programs, business, museums and heritage sites through local media; the individual who wants experience working with the public as an event coordinator or project manager; and web and print design.
  • Boys and Girls Club of Hartsville – Interns assist the staff in facilitating programs and services for its members.
  • Carolina Elementary School – Interns become familiar with the skills necessary to be an effective guidance counselor for individuals, small groups and entire classrooms.
  • Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center – Interns learn aspects of human resources including regulatory requirements, hiring processes, disciplinary procedures, FMLA requirements and much more.
  • Cumulus Broadcasting - Interns experience first-hand the reality of working in the radio broadcasting industry. Interns can test their creative talent, exercise their analytical skills and increase their understanding of broadcasting operations and trends.
  • Hartsville Physical Therapy - Interns develop communication skills working with patients to include understanding and sympathy with a dose of pressure while still maintaining professionalism.  Interns learn how to perform patient evaluations and assist and monitor patient exercise routines for safety and correctness.  Additional training includes areas such as ultrasounds, electrostimulation and use of hot and cold packs.
  • Media Source 1 – Interns observe and participate, when possible, in all stages of the video production process, from concept to completion including script development, planning of location taping and much more.
  • South Carolina Department of Probation and Parole - Interns develop an overall understanding of the direct supervision of adult offenders under community supervision including court and jail procedures.
