Hartsville, S.C. – May 13, 2016 – The Coker College Dance Program will host a summer dance intensive workshop July 18-22, 2016. Designed for high school sophomore, junior and senior students, the workshop provides professional-level dance instruction.

The workshop will include daily technique class in ballet and modern technique, as well as additional classes in jazz dance, improvisation, composition and dance conditioning/somatics. Students will also learn a variety of repertory that they will showcase at an informal performance on the last day of the workshop. Designed and taught by Coker’s distinguished faculty and additional guest instructors, the program will push students to develop their artistic perspective, technical facility and creative voices.

Registration for the workshop is $30. The regular tuition fee (before June 1) is $400, and the late tuition fee (after June 1) is $450. Housing is available for $250, and local students who wish to commute daily rather than stay in the dorms may do so. Full tuition and housing fees must be paid by July 1.
