Approval of January Minutes

A-Team Reports

Dr. Robert Wyatt - Reported that the Board of Trustees has approved a tuition increase for 2011-2012; however the budget will be tighter this year due to evening enrollment being down, and state and national budget cuts. Pell grants and SCICU grants have also been reduced. The plans for the new Wellness Center were announced in Charlotte this past weekend with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm.

Dr. Patricia Lincoln - Searches for new faculty are going well. The Last Lecture Series will begin Friday at 3:30 p.m with Dr. Joseph Rubenstein presenting. Currently working on the schedule for next year. Pre-registration will begin soon and all registration will be done online. Faculty are continuing to embrace new technology and there will be 13 online classes this summer through the ALPHA program. Announced move from Mullins to Marion Adult Learning Center. March 25th & 26th will be the Regional Humanities Conference at Coker. April 18, 19, 20—Academic celebration.

Dr. Steve Terry - C.O.W. Days went great. We are in the final stages of leasing the space from Steve Avant for Coker Downtown Lofts. This will add 20 spaces for students and will be governed by residence life. March 19, “Admitted Student Celebration Day."

Tom Giffin - The Alumni Board met and changed from 17 committees down to 3 committees, which are Career Advancement, Fund Raising and Special Events. There will be an Alumni College event June 3-5 which takes place of Alumni Day. The Charlotte event was successful. On March 19th, there will be Kalmia Oyster Roast, Student Admitted Day and Student Emergency Fund Bike Ride.

Jerry Silver - A new payroll supervisor will be on board March 7th. A Grad Fair is being held today in the Drawing Room. Please direct any HR questions to Cindy Griggs at ext. 8023.

Jennifer Rhodes - Met with Dr. Wyatt and the CSAC focus for this year is to continue building community and improve customer service. There will be a Spring Social after graduation. There will be a Computer Users Group meeting on March 3rd regarding Access® and importing information from Datatel. Remember the Relay for Life “Womanless Beauty Pageant” is scheduled for March 8th. Department “Pat-on-the-Back” - Goes to the ALPHA Program for all of their hard work and endeavors.

Staff Excellence Award - Given to Margaret Theismann. Margaret was nominated by Alexa Bartel for the wonderful work that she does in the Library.
