March 17, 2011

Welcome - Given by Jennifer Rhodes

Approval of February Minutes

A-Team Reports
Dr. Robert Wyatt
— Dr. Wyatt discussed the PULSE Program and how it will help us with recruiting new students. Another great benefit of this program is that it will fund a Chinese professor for next year that will serve both Coker and the Governor’s School. Dr. Wyatt was also excited to announce that Coker College was recently named a College of Distinction. This online guide focuses on colleges and universities that appeal to students’ unique and varied interest. There are only two other colleges that are ranked in this state. The Board of Trustees will be on campus in two weeks. Staff item of interest that will be discussed will be compensation.

Dr. Patricia Lincoln — Dr. Lincoln announced that the Strategic Plan will soon be going in front of the curriculum committee and then on to faculty senate for approval.

Dr. Steve Terry — Dr. Terry announced that room draw is scheduled for April 7th. He also reminded us that they have planned another Destination Unknown trip for Saturday, March 19th. Anyone is welcome to participate. Dr. Terry stated that he will send out an admissions mid month report out later today. Admitted Student Day is scheduled for this Saturday. They are expecting 100 possible students and their families.

Jerry Silver – Mr. Silver introduced Tracey Burns, who is the new Payroll Coordinator in Human Resources.

Department “Pat-on-the-Back” — Goes to Athletics. Athletics has done such a great job this year promoting their games and building a bigger fan base. We would like to acknowledge them for their efforts and congratulate them on a job well done.

Lifesaver Awards
