A-Team Reports

Dr. Tracy Parkinson – Day students have received mid-term grades. Students may be struggling and may contact staff for help. If a student makes contact, please send them in the right direction for help.

Kyle Saverance – Introduced Chris Dougherty as the newest member of the Office of Marketing and Communications team. Chris filled the Content Writer position.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Barbara Green, EAP representative, discussed benefits offered through the EAP program. Employees are 100% covered on the first day of employment (for full-time, part-time, and adjunct employees). The program includes family members residing in the household. Ms. Green discussed available benefits outlined in the handout. Services are available 24/7. All services are confidential and will not be relayed back to the employer. Three clinical counseling sessions are offered per family member. If the clinician determines more sessions are needed, the clinician and client can contact EAP to determine if additional sessions can be approved; otherwise, the client would contact their insurance provider regarding additional sessions.

Staff Excellence Award — The recipient of the Staff Excellence Award for the month of October goes to Trevor Robinson who was nominated by Kindra Steenerson and David Dawson.

Nomination by Kindra Steenerson — Trevor is a consistently positive force, whether he’s scheduling the PAC, working with student workers, or communicating with faculty, staff, and community members. He is always polite, does what he says he’ll do, and does it with a smile and a sense of humor. He is also a creative force to be reckoned with! As the sound designer for the spring production, he has impressed me with his passion and skill. He’s also my next-door-office neighbor, and is a creative and capable prankster, making it a joy to come into work every day. Who wouldn’t want to find paper airplane notes flown into her office asking questions about work?! Way better than a boring ol’ email. Trevor is an excellent example of Coker community (serving the entire community well, and presenting a positive public face), and we’re proud to have him in our Building!

Nomination by David Dawson – I have been fortunate to work with Trevor as both a student and a colleague. I believe he exemplifies the ideals of hard work, professionalism, and friendliness. I am delighted to say that Trevor is a great collaborator, an honest and kind individual and an ideal colleague. In the department of music, dance, and theater, we have called on Trevor numerous times to help with our many shows and activities we produce. Trevor serves the campus as the auditorium manager but he is so much more. He has been active at Freshmen Move In day and with several campus activities, including coffee in the court yard, the fitness assessment, and open house. He spends countless hours helping to get all sorts of events set up here on our campus. Events such as open houses, convocation, student activities, and commencement relied heavily on Trevor and his expertise. His ―can do‖ attitude and running (never walking) the extra mile has made him invaluable to both our department and to the campus at large. Trevor’s keen ideas and eye for detail has greatly contributed to the success of our work in theater and the work of the campus. And he always seems to have a smile on his face and a great attitude towards all of Coker. It has been a pleasure to work with him. Trevor has always been extremely wonderful with his peers, students and everyone in the department. He has truly made my life easier with his tireless efforts.
