Bandfest, one of Coker’s most anticipated events, features at least three bands from across the country. The event is sponsored by the Coker College Union and provides entertainment, food and fun for the campus community.
Coffee at the Courtyard
Every other Thursday during the academic year, students, faculty and staff gather in Davidson Courtyard to mingle over coffee, juice and breakfast foods. During the event each week, an individual or group is honored for their contributions to campus life.

The ceremony marks the end of Orientation and welcomes freshmen students as members of their Commissioner families to Coker.
Coker Olympics of Winter (C.O.W. Days), a week-long event sponsored by Class Council, began in the mid 1970s and are held at the beginning of February. The week includes activities such as a hot wing eating contest, tug of war, lip sync, Miss Cow Pageant and the Coker Hunk Contest, and culminates with the playing of the C.O.W. Day games on Saturday. Each class competes in Coker’s version of Olympic events in hopes of earning the title of C.O.W. Days Champions.
The Crew Race, dating back to 1919, is one of Coker’s oldest traditions. Each spring, nine representatives from each sister class pile into large canoes and race across Prestwood Lake. Teams begin practicing weeks in advance for a chance at victory.
Homecoming, held annually in February, is a week-long event that consists of welcoming alumni, basketball games, homecoming parade, alumni games, the crowning of the Homecoming Court and other Class Council sponsored activities.
Late Night Breakfast
Late Night Breakfast is held each semester on the evening of Reading Day and offers students one final chance to relax before exams begin. The Dining Hall opens at 9:30 p.m. for breakfast cooked by your favorite faculty and staff members.
The Winter Formal, a more recent Coker tradition, is a semi-formal dance event held during the fall semester at the Hartsville Country Club.
