Congratulations on being admitted to Coker College! The following checklist will help make sure you have a smooth transition to your new life as a Cobra:

Reserve your place by paying your deposit

  • If you plan to live on campus in our Residence Halls, send us your $150 deposit to secure your place. This will also serve as your room damage/lost key deposit. (See “Apply for housing” below for more housing information.)
  • If you are a commuter and live at home, send us your $50 advanced tuition deposit to reserve your place in the class.

Submit your final transcripts and test scores

First Time College Students

  • Don't forget to send us your final high school transcript, IB and/or AP scores, and any dual credit transcripts. These must be ordered from the college where you received your dual enrollment credits. The College Board code for Coker College is 003427. Be sure to include this code to have your AP or IB scores sent to Coker.

Receive your Webadvisor log-in information

After you’re admitted, you will be given access to the Coker College WebAdvisor program. WebAdvisor is your electronic gateway to almost everything you will need as a Coker student. As an admitted student, you will be able to:

  1. See your admissions status
  2. Review all financial aid that has been posted to your account

Complete Housing Agreement (residents only)

  • Coker College is a residential campus. Coker provides residential facilities for the housing needs of our traditional full-time day students (<=23 years of age). On-campus housing is required. Students may apply to live off-campus if they meet one of the following requirements: the student lives in the local area (30 mile radius) with a parent, spouse or legal guardian; is a senior (90+ credit hours); or is 22 years of age.
  • All residential students must complete the Housing Agreement.
  • Room and roommate assignments are sent to your Coker College email in early January from the Director of Residence Life. The Office of Residence Life makes every effort to place you in the residence hall of your preference, but room assignments are made based on the date your Admissions Deposit is received and completion of your Housing Agreement.

Activate your Coker email account

  • Once your deposit is received, your Coker email account will be active after October 1, and within one week thereafter. Our Information Technology Office will establish your personal Coker College email address. All Coker College students, faculty and staff have a Coker email address. Your email address is essential to be able to register for classes and receive communication from Coker College. If you are a residential student, you must use your Coker email address in order to receive your room assignment.

Complete AlcoholEdu & Haven by Friday, January 12, 2018 (new students only)

  • All new students will be required to complete the online course (s) before the beginning of classes. An email will go out from your Student Success Coach with information on how to access the course (s). The online course uses an engaging, thought approach to provide students with the tools needed to navigate the risks of life in college.

Submit your Health Services Forms (new, residential students only)

  • All residential students must complete the Medical Profile and provide updated immunization records. The Medical Profile & guidelines on submitting immunizations records can be accessed here.

Complete your Athletic Department Documents (student-athletes only)

  • Student-athletes should click here for the athletic department’s specific medical information required for participating in athletics.

Complete your Medical Access Fee Waiver by January 13, 2018 (residents only)

  • All residential students are automatically billed for the Medical Access Fee unless it is waived by providing proof of private insurance. To waive this fee, please complete the Medical Access Fee Waiver.
  • The Medical Access Fee IS NOT INSURANCE and only allows access to a local medical provider for limited basic acute care/sickness after a referral by the college nurse during the academic year. The student is responsible for all co-pays, deductibles, and any and all charges that are incurred.

Take Care of your Student Account

  • Balances should be paid by January 13, 2018.
  • While you will have the opportunity to pay your bill at check-in, skip the lines by paying before. Students can pay the bill online via Webadvisor. Please note that account statements can be viewed by logging into Webadvisor and clicking on "My Account Statement" located within the "Financial Information" section. 
  • New students are also required to complete the Financial Student Responsibility and Contact Consent Form before attending check-in. You will find that form HERE.
  • Please direct any questions concerning your account statement to the Student Solution Center by calling 843-383-8002. 

Register your vehicle and get your parking tag

  • Students who have a car on campus will need to register this vehicle and display a parking decal on the car. Your parking decal will be available at CobraQuest: New Student Orientation check-in or, after that, at the Student Solution Center 24 hours after you have submitted the online form.

Take your math placement test

You can take the math placement test within one week of receiving your deposit,  by following the directions below. We ask that you take the math placement before arriving on campus. You will access the Math Placement Test through Blackboard Learn LMS. Blackboard Learn LMS (Learning Management System) is where you will find your classes online.


  • Go to

  • Log-in to Blackboard and view your courses. Select "Mathematics Placement Test (2017 MPT)" link to begin.
  • You will be asked to accept the user terms. Select yes.
  • You will be asked if you want to enroll in the course. Select yes.

Take the Navigating Coker Technology Online Course by Friday, January 12, 2018

  • All new students are required to take the Navigating Coker Technology Online class. This online class aims to educate students on the ins and outs of the Webadvsior, Blackboard, Coker email, and other technology mediums offered at Coker. New students will be enrolled in the course after November 1.
  • You will access the Navigating Coker Technology Course through Blackboard Learn LMS. Blackboard Learn LMS (Learning Management System) is where you will find your classes online.

Obtain your Student ID

  • Students are issued a unique Coker College Identification (ID) card when enrolled. In addition to serving as official identification as a Coker student, the Coker College ID also provides access to the library, intercollegiate athletic events, cultural events, and speakers on campus. There is a $150 fee to replace lost or damaged ID cards.
  • Please email a picture (specifications listed below) to Your ID will be printed and available to you at check-in.
  • Here is a list of do's and don'ts for a great ID picture:
    • Recent Color Photo taken in last six months from the waist up.
    • Head size must be between 1 inch and 1 1/2 inches.
    • Plain light colored background
    • Neutral/slight smiling facial expressions only and directly facing the camera.
    • Normal clothing. No uniforms, except for religious clothing worn daily.
    • No hats or head covering that covers hair or hairline, unless worn daily for religious purposes.
    • Face must be visible with no shadows being cast on face.
    • No headphones or similar items can be worn.
    • Prescription glasses or hearing devices normally worn may be included.
    • Dark glasses or tinted lenses non-prescription glasses are not allowed. If they are a medical need, then you may need to provide medical certification.
    • No glare on glasses.
    • Your eyes MUST be visible.

Attend CobraQuest: New Student Orientation (new students only)

  • All new students are required to attend Cobra Quest: New Student Orientation beginning with move-in/check-in on January 15, 2018. Information regarding this event will be sent in early December.

Review your FERPA rights

  • The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. In general, information from a student’s educational records may not be disclosed without the student’s direct consent. If you would like to authorize Coker College to release your educational records to certain individuals (such as your parents), please fill out this form.

Learn about student services and resources

  • Dining Services: Coker College partners with Sodexo to provide food service for the campus community. Residential students are required to participate in one of two equally priced meal plan options: 21 meals/week with $125 in CobraCash or 14 meals/week with $250 CobraCash. Initial meal plan selections are made as a part of the Housing Agreement process. Changes to your meal plan may be made prior to drop/add. Commuter students may choose to participate in a competitively priced meal plan or pay cash at any location. To learn more about our dining options, click here.
  • Laundry Facilities: All residential students have unlimited access to laundry machines. Washer and dryers are available in each residence hall. There is no additional charge for laundry service. Visit from any on-campus computer for real-time updates on machine availability.
  • Campus Communication: All students are provided with a Coker College email account and a campus mailbox. Campus mail and email are considered official means of communication for the College and are the primary methods used by faculty and staff to disseminate information to our students. As a Coker student, it is your responsibility to check both your campus mailbox and student email account regularly. Failure to read college communications sent via campus mailbox or email does not absolve you from complying with the content of these communications.
  • Campus Technology: Each residential student is provided 24 hour access to our computer network through wireless and ethernet port access points. The College also offers 60+ cable television stations from Time Warner Cable Television, including Striker Cinema Channel 2. Wireless internet is available across campus.
  • Trans4mations: At Coker College, we believe that the right college education is a truly transformative experience. That’s why we created Trans4mations. Throughout your four years at Coker, Trans4mations guides you through a personalized sequence of curricular and co-curricular experiences designed to help you discover your best self.   • Counseling Center: Personal and group counseling is available to all students through the Counseling Center located in the Student Center. There is no charge for counseling services to Coker College students, and the service is strictly confidential. For more information, click here.
  • Career Development: The Career Development Office is located in the the Library-Information Technology Center to assist students with resume writing, graduate school selection, major selection, interest inventories, and many other services. For more information, click here.
  • Personal Property Insurance: Coker College is not responsible for loss or damage of students' personal property; therefore, the College highly recommends students consider securing personal property insurance for their belongings. Coverage may be offered through your homeowner’s or an additional policy obtained through your insurance provider. Additionally, you may consider a policy issued from a third-party vendor, National Student Services, Inc. (
  • Student Health Services: Coker residential students have access to Student Health Services during regular posted office hours. Staffed by a contracted nurse, students may visit for minor illnesses, referral to contracted physicians and confidential health & wellness related consultation. The College contracts with several local physicians for limited basic acute/sickness care to provide residential students with office visits provided the student has a referral from the nurse.   • Coker Bookstore: The Coker Bookstore offers a variety of textbook purchasing options – new, used, rental and digital. The price comparison tool on our website allows you to compare our prices with the online marketplace and choose the purchase option that best meets your needs. Purchases may be made using cash, check, credit card, or, when available, Financial Aid. We also sell school supplies, Coker apparel, school spirit items, gifts, souvenirs, and drinks/snacks. The campus store is located on the bottom floor of the Student Union Building.
