Patricia Kerr Courtney Underwood Hafers died February 14, 2018 in Lexington, KY. She was born in Aiken South Carolina, the daughter of the late Reginald Courtney, Jr and Frances Kerr Courtney. She was a graduate of Aiken High School, attended Coker University, Hartsville, SC and graduated from Western Kentucky University. She was preceded in death by her son, Capt. Reginald Underwood USMC and her husband Shirley Underwood and her husband Ernest Hafers, also her sisters Nancy Godbold and Martha Bain Robinson. She is survived by her son Win Underwood, her daughter Alice Leininger and her two granddaughters Anne Underwood Rhodes and Alice Claybrook Leininger and daughter-in-law Donda Rhodes. She was a member of Daughters of the King, Daughters of the American Revolution, a volunteer at Ashland, the Henry Clay estate and a member of St. Hubert’s Episcopal Church. She was a noted equine art buyer and the first manager of the Winner’s Circle gift shop at the KY Horse Park.
Funeral services will be private with a memorial service at a later date. Memorials may be made to York Place Episcopal Home for Children, 234 Kings Mountain St, York Harbor, SC 29745. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
