I first found out about Coker College when my daughter, Dr. Andrea Coldwell, became a member of the faculty. Over the years my wife, Terri, and I fell in love with the campus community and Hartsville. In retirement I was looking for something worthwhile to do, and the position of Adult Student Success Coach and Library Asst. fills that desire. I feel my experience as an adult student and my training in counseling will help me assist our adult students.

I've always been passionate about working with young people. As a Student Success Coach, I hope that I can have a positive impact on Coker students. It is a privilege to travel with them on their journey of self-discovery.

Coker drew me in with its beautiful campus, dedicated faculty and staff, and bright, engaging students. I knew I wanted to be a part of Coker’s commitment to providing the best education and creating young men and women who are dedicated to creating positive changes in their communities. My passion is helping others see their strengths and helping them utilize those to reach their goals.

"I came to Coker in August 2011 to play golf and I have enjoyed every moment in Hartsville since. As a student, I loved the small class sizes and the family feeling you get while on campus. I enjoy advising our students as a Student Success Coach, guiding them through their journey at Coker. I also enjoy broadcasting and still get to put on a headset for some Coker basketball and volleyball games."

"I am a Hartsville native. I came to Coker to be the assistant director for off-campus programs (internships, study abroad, community service, career development). Coker makes a difference by responding to the needs of the individual student through forming relationships that nurture the intellectual and personal growth necessary for success. As a first-generation college student, I think about individuals that helped me, and I want to pay it forward."

"My story begins in 2014, when I began a new journey in a life at Coker College. I started in Admissions and experienced true team work with a fabulous group of outgoing, professional staff. My story has continued in the Office of the Student Experience working with some of the most intelligent, energetic, and outstanding team members. I have also been given the opportunity to serve our students and am so excited to see their stories transpire at Coker."

"My Coker story began in the summer of 2004 and is still being written. I received a great education, played a sport I love, met lifelong friends, found faculty and staff who have become mentors, and discovered my passion. Now I get to help students every day to discover their passion at Coker. We like to describe the Coker community as a family, and it's true. We are a family, we believe in Coker, and we believe in each other. It's always a great day to be a Cobra!"

"My Coker story began in 1990 when I was fortunate that a family friend and dance professor, Dr. Nancy Bolden, told me of an opening in the Student Services Office. I have always enjoyed being a part of our students' transformation from freshmen to graduates. In the summer of 2015, I was given the opportunity of a new position working with the Executive Vice President, and I embrace this new role. I take great pride in saying that I work at Coker College."
